      Hello!

I am in a team of one and need to do 60 learning needs analysis :). I want to do this thoroughly but also effectively time wise.

I was thinking for some questions I could use a rating scale and wondered if anyone has one I can have a look at at?

An example of a question: Do they have a basic level of knowledge, skills, and behaviours so that they are competent to do their role?

      I thought I could then use a rate scale for example 1 = No. 3 = some what. 5 = Yes.

If you rated 1 or 3 what themes are there? Do they need wider knowledge shares if yes what? Is the expectation that they should be at 4 or 5 and they’re not why aren’t they?

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

        Hi Kate,

Maybe take a step back and ask yourself if a TNA is the right thing to do?  What outcome are you really looking for?  Check out this brilliant post from L&D expert Nick Shakleton-Jones on why TNA’s are flawed.  Our toolkit will also hopefully give you some ideas about what to do instead to develop an ‘always learning’ culture.

Hope that’s useful and you don’t mind the challenge – that’s what we’re here for 😉

Thank you Karen and I love a challenge, I’ll see what I can do :).
