we have had a peer to peer reward system in for almost two years now, with a points account and reward catalogue in place, all delivered via an employee hub.   This enabled us to give our employees choice when choosing their reward making it personal to them rather than generic.  We now do all forms of reward by points – whether it be long service, on the spot awards, values awards or christmas gifts.  We use a fabulous company called Peoplevalue to deliver our employee hub – which has the peer to peer system, points rewards, thank yous, discounted shopping and much more.  hope that helps
