      Hello,

We’re currently looking at how we recognise and reward length of service at our Company. It feels like celebrating 10 year milestones is a thing of the past and we’ve been looking at the length of service of our leavers historically to see where the ‘drop off’ point is.

I’m keen to hear which milestones you recognise in your business and what individuals receive at each stage.

      Thank you 🙂

        Hi Hannah,

we go in 5 year increments, starting at 5 years all the way up to 40 years!  In a years time I will be adding a 45 year service award!

We used to do gifts to a monetary value – 5 years is £50 all the way up to 40 years is £750.  We now have converted that into points that fit in with our reward hub .  They get the same monetary value and can go and spend it on whatever they like in a catalogue.

        Hope that helps

        Rachel

Hi, we felt the same when we harmonised our terms and conditions following a merger in 2016. We now offer long service awards at 5 year intervals. At 5 years we give one day’s extra leave for that year only and for 10 years and every 5 years after that, it’s a taxable payment of £500.

Some great advice already!  We’re definitely seeing a move away from standard recognition for time served and much towards celebrating the person  i.e. ‘we’re so happy you’re still here 5 years on because..’  Then you can really personalise the celebration by knowing what would make them feel valued e.g. a few days off, some cash, a weekend break etc…

Hope that helps (oh and we love what Blueboard offer)

              Karen
