Hello, please can anyone recommend good resources for creating Personas and examples of how HR teams have used them and the impact that has had? Just weighing up the pros and cons at the moment. Thank you.

Morning Sonja, here are a few resources on the club that you might find helpful:

        – The ‘New Approaches to Employee Experience’ webinar that gives you examples of other organisations using employee personas

        – A step-by-step guide to creating your employee persona

        5 Minute Monday: Employee Persona

        I hope this helps!

        Best wishes,

        Disruptive HR Team

We have started using personas as of 18 months ago for many different TA and HR related work pieces of work. The disruptive HR material is excellent. I would be happy to share with how we have used them and impact. Trust me before i was very cynical about them but infact they have helped us immensely.

Hi there.  We’ve had them for a few years now and we find them excellent.  What we did was segment our employee population with all the information we had not just what was on our HRIS, but also what we knew about how people travelled to work, what their family circumstances were like etc – it worked out as 8 separate personas.  We then found employees that matched those personas exactly and interviewed them – aiming for 4 or 5 interviews per persona, and that gave each persona depth.  We’ve used them as part of the thinking for all our employee experience work, policies and procedures.  It’s good to do.

Thank you Victoria, that’s a great idea finding the perfect matches! I’m really curious about how you bring in diversity characteristics or do you keep those very separate? working mums, people with dyslexia, introverts/extroverts etc?

                  Hi Salima,

Hope you are well. Would you mind also sharing with me? I’m exploring creating these but want to understand how they can add value in the long run.

Happy to jump on a zoom call, my email address is kgill@bruceclay.com

                  Thanks!
