      Hello

I am currently looking at our recruitment and onboarding experience. I had a demo on enboarder which was fantastic but not sure if the budget will stretch that far right now. Does anybody have any examples of other tools/apps they have used that does similar to enboarder that they would recommend? Or anything they have done internally? I would love to hear from you.

      Thank you
      Hayley

You may not be looking for an HRIS system but we implemented BambooHR about 18 months ago and the onboarding process is excellent – everything is automated and we get consistent feedback from new hires about what a great experience it was for them.  Since lockdown a couple of bits we’ve implemented – ‘Getting to know you’ questions – we ask 5 silly random questions – tea/coffee & favourite snack, favourite food, song, holiday etc….  based on their answer to tea/coffee and treat we purchase this (Amazon) and include it in a ‘Welcome Box’ which includes their equipment, a Welcome postcard, branded note pad and pen – this is sent a couple of days before their start date.  The answers to their questions are also emailed to their team on their first day (all via bambooHR), which is a nice ice breaker etc for when the team does a virtual welcome meeting.  We’ve also worked with Line Managers to put together induction plans (we created a template they can edit) for week 1 and share this in the week before the new hire joins – joining virtually is really hard but we’ve found having some structure in place for week 1 really helps to make people feel welcome and know what they should be doing and when etc…  hope that helps!

Hi Hayley, we highly recommend using your existing Comms channels as an alternative. If you haven’t already seen our toolkit titled, 10 ways to use your Comms hub for great HR, you will find some ideas in there.

If you are looking at making your onboarding more interactive, then a few other pointers can be found here.

          Hope this helps.

          Best wishes,

          Disruptive HR Team
