We’re migrating to a new LMS platform and want to take the opportunity to reframe the resource away from being an online platform that transactionally pushes mandatory training out to teams.

We really want to land on a name that captures a more engaging, user-led learning resource and experience.

We’re collating ideas on what to name it and I wondered what other organisations refer to their learning management systems as? What do you call yours?

We have just renamed ours ‘Stay Learning’ – moving to a more organisation owned, one stop shop approach that hosts a variety of methodologies, and be more interactive.  We have gone for a ‘faculty’ approach (or knowledge hubs) where disciplines will own and manage their site, hosted on our platform.  We are in the early days of it – but its being positively received

          Hi Phil,

I work at the Holkham Estate and we have called ours Holkham Grow, as it fits nicely with our ethos of learning and sustainability!

          Thanks

We have ‘Learning Central’ – our parent company being Central Garden and Pet  – I quite like it – does what it says on the tin!

Ours is called The Academy.  I’m not in love with the name however we’re a global company.  More exciting names which worked in one region were really disliked in another.

Hi Phil,  Years ago when I worked at Barclaycard the L&D team introduced a new LMS and ran a competition with colleagues to name it.  It was great because it got people engaged with the new system before launch and it felt like it was owned by them.  They ended up with GLADYS (which stood for Grow, Learn and Develop Yourself).  Clare
