      Hi there

I wondered if anyone had any ideas to share to mark IWD this year. I know it’s less than a week away so doesn’t have to be anything super complex but any ideas would be of interest.

      Thanks!

We are keeping it really simple we’ve created a ‘frame’ with the #IWD2021 and #GMWomen (Greater Manchester) and we are asking all our female staff to take a picture of themselves with the frame/ put a picture of them in the frame and send it to us to make a montage!

This will feature with some accompanying text on our social media

We’re going to share some stories of inspirational women within our industry and start a thread on Yammer asking colleagues to share their stories of women who inspire them.

We have been working collaboratively across the Council – particularly our Women’s Staff Network – to provide a range of events across the week. This includes sessions on Women’s Wellbeing at Work and career progression, webinars looking at the menopause and #IamRemarkable workshops. We shall also be holding an online discussion on ‘Overcoming Barriers” with a panel of keynote speakers.

We offered a webinar (to the whole team) with Karen Darke British Paralympic Cyclist who spoke about finding your inner gold.  She was amazing. We then held a discussion forum afterwards which worked well.
