I’d really love to know what others are doing to address developing the fundamental skills of middle managers to help their people be effective and engaged at work please. There’s a lot written about leadership development which often focuses on things like vision, purpose and values. But what about helping managers get the everyday basics done brilliantly at the middle of the organisation?
You’re so right and we’re definitely seeing a trend in clients wanting to focus on the leadership basics.
We’ve got some resources on our site which might help – there is our example of a leaders guide which is a practical toolkit for managers. This short video on helping leaders to have better conversations and we’ve also got a workshop that can be adapted and delivered in-house by you on human conversations around setting goals, showing appreciation and discussing development.
