      Hi all,

We are looking to build on our culture of allyship. Would anyone be willing to share any thoughts/ experiences / insights please on whats worked well (or not)?

Hi Liz, we are really ramping up our activities with allies. We found it useful to start by bringing people together to pinpoint why we are doing this and the powerful role applies play as long as they’re active. I included examples of actions they could take ranging from inviting others to events, being a guest speaker, ensuring a balance in meetings to offer different views and making introductions to decision makers if being an ally to someone with aspirations to climb the career ladder.

I think this really helped. A little like inclusion – everyone agrees it’s a really great thing to do but they are not always sure where to start and how to make a difference. Offering up small starting points gave tangible actions allies could take to get going.
